How about a sport bike radiator and its fan with a remote fill cap inline somewhere? That would take at least another 20 pounds off the car if you count coolant weight too. My brothers 2009 R6 has a exotic curved $$$ one but there are lots of bikes out there and my JY does have motorcycles there.

on vw these are typically, primarily for after-run not as much for use while driving.
and i dont think a bike radiator would be as effective in the fes. there's just not enough directed airflow- the curved ones are specifically made to use the most surface area behind the smallest hole possible. its not like the stock rad is all that big, you'd probably be better off if you changed the profile of the rad from squarish to long and narrow, and blocking off the grille as far as cooling-vs-drag/weight goes.
this idea interests me as well tho. ive been thinking the b3 probably could benefit from a compression bump, and water/meth inj to reduce need for high octane. with the water/meth you could advance timing some more too (in theory)Originally posted by scirocco*joeProject Car Theorem:
