  • 88 323 alt into 90 L+

Burned up my stock 50amp with a stereo last month and have no money to replace. I was at the p'n'p with my friend today and found a 88 323 with a fresh looking rebuilt alt. I believe they run 65amps but will have to check. I did need to splice in the regulator connector and swap the bushings at the lower mount but it was a very quick job and all is quite well. The alt looks to be very new. Still has the Oreilly rebuilt part number sticker )not faded) on it. The 1.6 in the car was nice too, only 117K on the motor. But I have no money to spare right now for fun.

im going to upgrade my power wire from the alternator because my harness is the festiva one and im running a B6T alt, so it wouldnt be a bad idea for you to upgrade.

Im not saying its mandatory but consider it.

I'm running my KL alt on the stock festiva wiring and I have no issues with it

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

The 94 Protege alternator is like 70 amp and bolts in, and plug and play.
