So i need some help with some interchangability with the 1.8L
My miata right now is quick, but i want it to be more quick n/a because turbo is not the route for the type of racing i do... long straightaways for an hour or so of racing is a turbo cars worst night mare.
So any ways i have a couple different routes i can go with my car...
2003 miata motor.
$200 VVT controler, 1500 dollar motor, and headers. + a bit of wiring.
or..
stock 1.8L 84 miata motor with cams in the future or so... roughly 700 dollars.
OR!!!!
this is my idea... low low km junkyard b8me bottom end (because of easy accecability), 99 head swap from friend with webcam camshafts.... 200 dolalrs for bottom end, 400 dollars for head swap, and another 600 in odds and ends roughly 1700 all in ...
So my main question is, what are the differences between the b8me block and the bp4w block from the EGT and miata.. are there any C/R differences? rod strength diffs? block diffs?
i know my 1.6 stuff very well as some of you know with my 1.5L turbo abortion but the 1.8L is a new venture for me
any help and input would be greatly appreciated
