Hey guys. I have scored a 89' festiva L with 200 000k from toronto for free and it is a 4 speed. Not that i'm being picky about it, because its free, but what are the pros and cons to a festiva 4 speed tranny? This would mean the final drive ratio would be lower right? Will fuel efficiency differ? Speed? Thanks alot! Any tid bits are appriciated.

Well its the same with the 5 speed as long as you dont shift into 5th. Yeah the 4sp are a little less fuel eff. cause of the lask of a overdrive gear. I think they swap right out.

Harder for swaps
If your 89 is a 4spd that means its carbed. If you plan on doing a swap this makes things a little more difficult. Of course you could always do a carbed b6 swap quite easily1996 Aspire, 2DR 5SPD 185 60 14, Aluminum rims, Mild Stereo system, some neon tubes, 185 000 km not a speck of rust runs like a champ

I thought all 88 and 89 was carbed
90-93 was injected .
I heard somewhere here that there were a few 89's that were F.I.,
or was it some 89's had a 5 speed ?
I searched and tried to find that post ,I could not find it.
Maybe it has had a swap ?------------------------------------------------
