The main things you'll need is engine and ECU, since your starting with an EFI festiva, you can modify the festiva wiring harness to run the BP
Realistically, the festiva harness should be able to run the BP as-is without modifying it, you may just get a check engine light for missing the wire to the dist. and not having the VICS hooked up

1988 323 GT - B6T Powered

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

The stock tranny will bolt to the BP but it won't survive much abuse
By using the stock tranny it'll locate the BP far enough back where the firewall needs modifying, if you upgrade the tranny to the F or G series, it'll locate the BP far enough forward that it'll clear the firewall

Your best bet for the F series is to pull it from an 88-89 323 non-turbo (possibly other models but I can't think of them), and they use a 2 piece axle set which match the festiva, plus they're relatively easy to find
The stock Escort GT tranny is a G series tranny but uses a hydraulic clutch unlike the festiva's cable clutch, for a cable operated G series look for a Capri XR2 (not sure of the years since they never made it to Canada) or a 88-89 323 GT, which ever G series you get, hydro or cable, you must use the Capri or 323 axle set for it to work, the escort GT axles are too long to work in a festiva

Forgot to mention, the F and G series are roughly the same physical size but the G series is stronger, and the G series uses a 3 piece axle set which helps fight torque steer

Every now and then, the newbie questions need to be answered properly or else when a newbie does the search, all they find is threads saying "use the search function" and never find any real answers
