So I'm taking the oil pump apart to clean it and I remove this cotter pin where the pickup tube should be, and it explodes! I found a spring and a cap but I dont know if thats everything, I knew I should have read about it first but I didnt..is there anything else that should be in there? Like maybe a ball bearing to keep the oil up in the pump?

I just found a piece that slides all the way up in the chamber, it goes above the spring. After the second round of power dissolver I stuck my pinky in there and slid it out, is that what your talking about?2008 Kia Rio- new beater
