Does anyone have a listing for the main bearing oil clearance for an '89 B6....other than the Haynes manual? Like maybe a Ford Service Manual?
My Haynes lists the clearance as .0007"-.0014".....which seems pretty tight to me, but they list the "service limit" as .004". The local NAPA machine shop that polished my crank said their Federal Mogul bearing spec manual shows the clearance as .0012" - .0032" (which seems more realistic to me). Right now, I'm looking at between .0025" and .003" clearance.......which is pretty loose, but not terrible. If I was running 50W oil and circle track it would be great, LOL, but I would have preferred to be around .002" to .0025" max. I'm just looking for another published source for the recommended oil clearance.
