Those should work for a Gseries on a Protege/EGT so says the guys over on Club Protege. If anybody knows the diameter of the diff pin in a Gseries, I could make one of these for cheaper than the 55-60$ on ebay. I would presume that the .900" diameter one would be best.

I bought a cheap slide hammer at Harbor Freight and then made a special tool from $6.50 worth of hardware store parts. Worked great! Here's the thread--see post #94.

I've done the tapping, and the prying and a slide hammer with some cable wrapped around the bell, but it's the Drivers' side in the G series so the case is shaped funny and I don't think there's enough room to make the bracket thingy for the slide hammer instead of cable. I just wanted to post this so there is another alternative for folks, and if anybody knows the diameter of the diff pin in a G25MR so maybe I could make one at school.Owner of:

And no, it wasn't the circlip. I ripped the case open with the axle still inside and could clearly see the circlip not touching anything. I even beat on it from the inside out with a 5lb baby sledge and it wouldn't come out.
Please tell me how this tapping method works again?

That is a pretty cool design and not carried on the trucks. My driver is a broken 2 foot prybar that has been ground to fit down only one side, not both. It is not as robust looking as those. The chain bolted around the bell with the big slide hammer has done the trick on the last few stuck ones. 9 out of 10 though just pop out with a little small prybar jostling.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig
