Matt, just out of curiosity, any plans to build a better carb intake manifold, esp. one that is set up for the Weber?

It sounded like Mr. Dickmeyer had that handled in this thread here: http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...l=1#post591649

However I am not closed to the idea of making them

What I know for sure is i'm going to finish every thing to which people have put money down on. After that i don't know , the festiva crowd is harder to please than theViper & Vette guys what i get alot is '' I want the best quality , the best performance at cheapest price , Oh and I want it now too''. This is't Burger King i can't always do your way right away. I took a risk devoting tons of time on this and lost . I have several large jobs that i putt off and lost a 116,000.00 project over it all which forced me to rethink this effort .Matt
                Probably not gonna happen.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Suggest Matt #1/Rocketman PM Matt #2/mattdickmeyer to see what his plans are. If Matt #2 isn't gonna build 'em, that sounds like a green light for Matt #1, with no feelings hurt. Maybe they could even work out a deal where they share profits: Matt #2's research, Matt #1's production. A licensing agreement. I think Matt #1 has more time available to do something like this.

3 tanks have netted me 35.7, 34 (driven HARD hahaha), and with leaned out A/F screw, 38 on last tank (still driven very hard on 180mi-roundtrip to Indianapolis on a Friday at rush-hour, some of the time spent doing 76-80).

Tune it right and it does pretty decent.

Plus, the feel with a Weber vs stock... you just can't compare it. Feels like a car with much more ponies.

                            • Guys as you can tell i have lurked here for a very long time, I am trying to get my 88 1.3 back on the road, and i find this setup very interesting, would love to get rid of all the vacuum tubes and such. My question is what was the final setup on the weber carbs? .100 on both pri. / sec. jets? and what was the final on the air correcter jets? .160-.170?
I am trying to do this on a budget, the wide band o2 setup sounds nice and would be fun to tinker with, but not in my budget right now, i am looking to get this back on the road , get rid of the vacuum / epa stuff and hopefully decent MPG . Any info on your final setup would be greatly appreciated

                              • I did a little checking around and discovered that turner shops and even a few better equipped garages have wide band O2's that your might rent or borrow. The local tuner got a real chuckle out of someone hopping up a Festiva but was willing to help.
