So, I've been searching and reading up on this the last few days. I think we need a formal write up on this transmission for the swap. I currently have the stock transmission in my festy (BP swapped) and its giving me issues. I have some time before the next rally so I'd like to perform this swap. I've seen some people have already pulled this swap off, but the articles on it are a bit hard to read. What I'm looking for is a basic checklist of any parts I'll need to pull of the swap successfully. I have the g25mr from the BP I put in initially ('93 EGT), but im reading and worrying that I need a cable operated clutch, (wondering if spec stage 2 I used with the stock tranny will work), and this statement(from: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/.../message/26012) saying that I need to
1: buy a cable-op G series transmission from the only two cars that
have it: Capri XR2 or 323 GT
2: Swap bellhousings from the Capri XR2 or 323 GT with any of the
above (93 EGT in my case)
can anyone point me in the right direction here? I'd really like the 4.1 final drive, as well as the beefyness of the g25mr (compared to stock festy), to get this car more durable. As for mounting it, we are going to a modified tube frame in the front so we shouldnt have too much of an issue, besides the size of it with "gently" tapping the frame.
