So the exhaust and the coolant are still the "first level"?

Used like it was built and patented yes. And the patent is a bit of a red herring , Smoky"s patent did exactly what he wanted it to, including not discussing or patenting the secret to what makes this work.Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig

I think I understand. You need what happens inside the cylinder to be adiabatic. Not a system that transfers things around. Transfers cause waste. Everything that happens in the cylinder should balance. Along those lines, direct water injection has been tested at least once I found. So you would ideally skip the cooling system and exhaust heat exchange altogether, but still use a turbo to make use of the exhaust power on top of having an adiabatic CC all the time. It's funny, I'd thought about water DI before now, but I never have the time or ability to test these things.Last edited by sketchman; 12-15-2014, 06:37 PM.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I am not saying injection is the way to go, just saying that direct injection has raised the bar coming from the science side. The inventor is not constrained by text book teachings. Already anyone of us could pull out oberts or any other engineering texts and say that what we are discussing is not possible because of ? lets use detonation. Detonation would likely ruin many attempts to even reach level one.
Lets keep this discussion if it continues friendly, it is very easy to offend when discussing things of this nature. There are people here that know or have experimented a lot. I love a discussion but avoid it usually because the last thing I want to do is upset someone when the object is to gain or share knowledge.
This thread is at that point where our own thoughts and beliefs can legitimately be questioned by another. This is also possibly getting out of what OP desires,
we could start another thread?Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig

Sure. I don't want to offend anyone either, and yeah, it seems to be derailed. I'll start another one.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
