Hi 'ya folks,
Just a quick update on the dyno.
Yesterday I finished all the mechanical fabrication and did some basic testing. The dyno works great!
I controlled the throttle and applied the load by hand during the basic tests, but I'll have the electronic controls working in a few weeks.
Check out the short video http://youtu.be/aDjlQ_dsOOU?list=UU_...ygjbKQGjXB1f4g

I was running 12% throttle opening and seeing what happened.... sort of looking at everything at once.
The dyno is configured with a torque arm and I'm assembling a RPM pick up point at the pump input. With torque and RPM the horsepower can be calculated. Right now I have no feedback but I'll eventually get it all instrumented and should be able to show real data.
The load is controlled by turning the knob on the big blue box. I'm converting the knob from hand control to servo control so everything can be controlled with a computer.
When the electronics are complete, I can run a pre recorded profile and find the best tune for maximum power and maximum MPG. The MPG is what I'm really after but I also want to get the best performance as well.
I think eventually we will see a lot of useful info that this forum can use.

Yes he is using MS. I installed MS on a friends 331 stroker Mustang and it is awesome. I cant wait to see what you can get out of this thing! also, I might hit you up to see how you hooked the MS up because I plan on doing the same thing to my B3.

I did a write up on MSII for the Festiva a few years ago, http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...hlight=fujioko
Unfortunately I don't actually own a Festiva, however I used that link when I wired up the dyno and it seems to work just fine.
