    well anyways i've known some people that bought some of those cheap knock of brand shifter from ebay. One completely broke off from the ball.....car stuck in gear

      You DO get what you pay for.. if you paid 9.00 for a brand new shifter, guess what? You just bought a 9.00 pos shifter..

        Your friend that had his broke probably got stuck with one of those POWDERED STEEL pieces of crap. Its this metal that isn't worth shit, when it breaks you look at it and the metal looks like a bunch of tiny balls compressed together. I made sure mine was actually steel, trust me :twisted:

          I dont know how anyone could break even the cheap-o aluminum ones, they are still pretty tuff unless your pulling Mr-t shifts or somthing..

          The reason i bought mine is becuase i did the atx-5-speed swap and had no boot for the auto shifter console im using, so i bought a chrome plate+shifter boot setup, (looks cool!) this screws on top of the console, but the boot was too short so i cut the shifter down and it was too short for me. Hence the $.99 shifter, heh..


          I got what looks like chrome die cast,.. not the greatest but i cant see myself breaking it, even being hard on it.
