Oh okay. Yeah it is a lot of stuffing around to get a car with an engine swap legally on the road. I suppose getting a less restrictive exhaust system would help, iridium spark plugs can add a smidge of acceleration and upgrading to lighter wheels would be good for performance and cosmetics.

Gets roughly 3x the amount of air. I'll cut it up a bit more and clean it up if I get positive resultsAttached Files

I had to run down to the shops so out of laziness I took a risk and drove the Festiva. Not much of a difference compared to the stock air box without the snorkel bit. The only noticeable change was in the intake noise. It sounds friggin awesome! So to gather my findings into one reply.
Compared to stock:
Stock air box w/o snorkel - better throttle response, climbs hills with less effort, more power in the higher revs, better fuel economy. Buzzy intake noise.
Stock air box w/o snorkel and cut open - Same as above but a roaring intake noise.

I ran two bits of washing machine piping from the bumper to my custom intake box. This picture shows it in Wet Weather Mode! I used two end-caps from my dumbbell set.Attached Files

Jst noticed the WRX intake on your hood. Why not route to that? Your car looks sweet BTW Exhaust should really wake up that 1.5Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

Thanks nitrofarm, these cars are under appreciated here in Australia. I really love my car, it is so reliable apart from general wear and tear type items. It is great ripping on my friend's Skyline because it is on a tow truck more than on the road. I did intend on utilizing the hood scoop but I thought I would just leave it for aesthetics incase I want to sell the Festiva later down the track. Grannies don't like hood scoops. Lol
