Hey I have a question would a 2.0L or 2.5L Mazda 626 engine out of a ford probe, be easily swapped into my 94 Festiva?

1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor
1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)
If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Mazda 626
Here's how I think of it, I'll use a B6T for comparison
B6T/G series swap requires 3 mounts to be made, same with my KL swap
Donor harness needs to be spliced in to run the engine, same with my KL swap
B6T swap (for most people) has extra plumbing for the intercooler, my KL doesn't need that which makes a little less work
KL swap needed a custom rad cross over pipe to plumb the rad.... This could be looked at as balancing out the work with not needing an intercooler
The only things I can really think of that's extra work is that the KL needs a diff swap and intermediate shaft mounting bracket, and hydro clutch conversion
Otherwise looking back I believe no modifications are necessary to the engine bay to fit the engine and overall there's not too much extra work to go KL vs B6TLast edited by Damkid; 02-19-2015, 04:25 PM.

The G series trannys are very easy to tear apart though, if you got a junk one kicking around, take it apart and you'll see what I mean
