Hey I have a question would a 2.0L or 2.5L Mazda 626 engine out of a ford probe, be easily swapped into my 94 Festiva?

Yeah, the hardest part is the transmission mounts.

      Why is that?

94 Festiva in Oregon? Is it a 93 Festiva or 94 aspire?

Because you have to make them, you can't buy them.

That depends on your definition of easy. Nothing directly bolts up, almost nothing directly plugs in and the engines barely fit. It has been done, but I'm not sure if anyone would consider it an easy swap.

Looking back, I think a 2.5 swap is relatively easy

I guess I'm a little biased since I've done it though lol

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

^pfff, "relatively easy". Relative to what? A shogun swap? Lol.

                  Here's how I think of it, I'll use a B6T for comparison

B6T/G series swap requires 3 mounts to be made, same with my KL swap

Donor harness needs to be spliced in to run the engine, same with my KL swap

B6T swap (for most people) has extra plumbing for the intercooler, my KL doesn't need that which makes a little less work

KL swap needed a custom rad cross over pipe to plumb the rad.... This could be looked at as balancing out the work with not needing an intercooler

The only things I can really think of that's extra work is that the KL needs a diff swap and intermediate shaft mounting bracket, and hydro clutch conversion

Otherwise looking back I believe no modifications are necessary to the engine bay to fit the engine and overall there's not too much extra work to go KL vs B6T

A lot of people like myself are not handy enough to tear down a tranny for a diff swap though.

I think that's the biggest reason why no one else has tried a KL swap

The G series trannys are very easy to tear apart though, if you got a junk one kicking around, take it apart and you'll see what I mean

My apologies I meant to say 93 not 94. I have fabrication skills so I'm not consered about that. Although this is my first tuner style project, so I'm a bit lost on all of this coming from carbonated v8 American muscle stuff.

I really just want to know if it's worth going to the bigger liter engine or just trying to find a b6t engine tyrant ect?

Cuz in my area where I live I'm only coming across a few escorts and a probe or two.
