Ian you are just a very violent person and your body strength is much greater than most car parts.

i just spent a little more (around 25$ shipped) for the billet stainless ones that dont have the bearings in the bottom, alot thicker castings should take more abuse than those piddly aluminum ones... i beat the crap outta my car and so i have to buy parts that will hold up against good amounts of abuse!

should have it in a couple weeks!

if i was to get one of these and install it on my car would it also get rid of that feeling that even when im in gear the shifter feels like its in neutral?

no that is caused from a bad bushing in the shifter that needs to be replaced, but I guess techinically since you should get a new bushing when you get the short shifter, maybe it does techincally fix the problem.

notice how its thicker at the bottom? plus its cast stainless, its a little heavier but should take abuse better than cast aluminum

Don. That is the shifter to avoid. It broke quite easily in the bench vise before installation after reading Ian's warnings. Being a sucker, I thought that I would sacrifice another $10 on a different style of eBay shifter.

                              I got this one: http://tinyurl.com/2guajb

It says steel, but it is not. It is however better made and much stronger than the other style and it did survive my bench vise torture test. I have yet to install it, but I am hoping that I will have a good result.

great...... maybe I will have it reinforced before I install it.

That was the guy with the highest rep.... I'm gonna be really unhappy if its not steel... I saw the other one but it did not have a pivot bearing.. Oh well, Its only money... I will test and report when I get it, maybe I got lucky...(doubt it)
