Probably. Though you will at the very least need to upgrade the clutch.

Some guys have left the stock transmission on a boosted 1.6 and beat on it and it holds up fine for a year or something, other guys manage to break them with a stock 1.3...
It all depends, it will be fine if your easy on it but you will need a stronger clutch of course. There are threads on here about which ones work good.

1.8-1.6 sohc engine mostly bolts in, works really well with a ihi vj14 (b6t) turbo. Buy a good clutch you have ultimate sleeper. Put the turbo in the muffler for best sleeper results. Putting a turbo in the muffler is a rear mount turbo it is under the car usually where the muffler used to be. Sounds amazing and it's cool
