  • Gas guzzling for a festiva anyway

So I filled up last night drove the half mile home and dis my usual this morning drove a total of 21 miles I stopped at the same gas station today and used 1.2 gallons..... Oh boy now granted the engine isn't perfect it has an bad oil burning problem when it's cold but that's oh well any help? My prc vacuum solenoid broke so the fuel regulator is running on manifold vacuum is that the problem?

The FPR should always see manifold vacuum, so that's not it. Pull and inspect your plugs and check the voltage coming out of the o2 sensor (engine to temp and running).

Also, 21 miles is too small of a sample to verify such crappy milage.
    Trees aren't kind to me...

    currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

Ok I'll check the o2 you could smell the gas in the exhaust so I adjusted my vaf 3 clicks leaner till the exhaust wasn't fuel filled doesn't really run any different power or band wise also is it normal to have b3 like horsepower till 3500 rpm then it seems to rocket off has plenty of torque at any rpm but the hp isn't really there at the low end

There is no such thing as low rpm HP, as HP is a function of force (torque)/time.

Given that, what engine are you running?

Timing being off will do that.

                ^ either.
Verify mechanical timing first, then ignition.

21 miles really isn't enough to get an accurate mpg reading unless under scientific conditions. I would suggest at least a whole tank, but I would consider at minimum 3 tank fulls to get an average.

Ok update my vaf and afr were spot on .3-.5 volt readings from the o2 so I don't really know I'm not a crazy driver but I'll try driving more grandma like and see if that helps lol
