  • B6T (XR2 engine & tranny) into 88 carbed.

Hi all I am looking to swap my B6T from a 1991 XR2 into a carbed 88 festiva. I need to know what to keep from the capri, axles? ecu? wiring? and so on and what will make my particular engine work on the 88 carbed platform. Thanks alot for any help.

Axles, wiring, engine, ECU, mounts, trans, motor=yes

also you will need a gas tank from a FI festy IIRC. Probally upgrade the pump at that time while its out.

Plus you will need to make all custom mounts to put it in the engine bay.

thanks alot man, if i wanted to just not go through the hassle of swapping tanks and use a fuel cell sense this will be a track car anyways what would you recommend for a fuel cell.

track car as in drag, autocross, ice racing, or circle track? A couple of people on here race their festy in competition so they probally would be a better source of info for a fuel cell. But heres my 2 cents.

As I said it depends on the application to determine if the cell is baffled/foam filled, capacity of the tank & location. Personally as long as you arn't doing an endurance race I would say get the 5-8 gal tanks. Face the ports to the rear so you can get gas during acceleration.

Its gonna be built for the quarter mile, I will have slicks for the track but most of my racing will be done on the streets against cocky v8 owners.

Its not that hard to swap the efi fuel tank, you also need to add a return line.
            My car is a 88 b6t.

I have a fuel tank from an efi festiva sitting around should I swap that in or do I just need the top piece that holds the fuel pump.

I had the whole tank go in the car,The difference is so little.its not hard @ all.I bet you are going to have a harder time swapping a fuel cell and its not necessary. My car is set up for your needs and it drives great.
