I've been wanting to swap in a small Ecoboost. Is there any chance you could measure the rough dimensions of the engine and trans? I just drool at the thought of squeezing a semi-built modern turbo engine into a stripped, gutted, bones picked, down-to-just-the-bare-essence Festiva and flying through the canyons

I think i could manage that for ya...his motor has covers all over it, of course hide the motor, but i will get something for ya might take me a few days to get up with him.......i also have been contemplating this swap but i am interested in the focus 1.0 turbo and using the 6 spd that comes with it..not sure how feasible of a swap this would be and lord knows how many modifications it will take

A 6 speed real manual or a dual clutch auto?

It has an actual 6 spd manual..when i saw that it had the 6 spd i thought that would be a better option than trying to mate the festy trans to the 1.0..ie better mpg also...im sure lots of mods to make it all work but would be well worth it im thinkin this is the direction i will be going..probly wont be till this time next year though...oddly ford only put the 5 spd in the fiesta eco boost but a 6 in the focus ecoboost....

Ok best i could come up with was engine mount to mount..left to right..was 32 inches..front to back was roughly 23 to 24 inches thats the rough measurements best i could get....i looked on the ole interweb and really couldnt find any dimensions on the 1.5 eco motor....maybe someone else know where to look for exact dimensions? Talk at ya later
