Lets say you have a parts festiva that the body is in good shape but everything else is junk and you have 3 drag tracks within 100miles of you. What motor and transaxle would you run in the car drag race only? I saw one on youtube a white festiva running 9s i think it was on junkyard parts.

I have a worked up automatic behind mine. I grenaded the diff though before I could go back to the track on higher boost.
Ran 13.7's on 8 psi. Was a lot of fun. Very fast shifts.
Years ago a guy in Canada was running 12's in an aspire with an automatic.91GL BP/F3A with boost

There is a 351w v8 festiva however it doesn't seem worth the effort as the added weight makes more issues. Your better off building a 4 cylinder.

There is a bigger automatic transmission from the late 88-89 323 that is a hydraulic control version of the one used in bigger cars like the MX6/626/Probe. Its an overdrive too. It has been swapped into a festiva at least once, but that was with a stock engine. And it was never documented. It is quite large and would probably require some work to fit it with a BP and turbo stuff. Not all of them have the overdrive trans. The only way would be a visual confirmation. It'll have an OD button on the shifter. I'm not positive but I think only the hatchback got it.
The non-overdrive transmission is the same as the festiva one.91GL BP/F3A with boost
