  • 1.3 DOHC 1nstallation EEC wiring

I got ahold of a 1.3 DOHC engine, manual trans, ECU and harness and other installation necessities a few years back. When I laid out the harness I had several connectors that I had no idea what they went to. Anyone know IF this thing will run okay on the B3 ECU,(I kind of doubt it) I found a distributor with the correct connector. A wiring diagram for a JDM spec 1.3 DOHC would be priceless. I have searched on the web with little/no luck. Until I did some searching on our forum I thought maybe I could mount that head on my short block, but It sounds like the valves would hit the block. Anyone done this swap, or with a link to wiring manuals/diagrams Thanks.

I'll trade you for a 1.6 dohc. Seriously if you want to sell it ill buy it. Who imported it for you?

No one has done that swap that I know of so it's never been documented. There is a member on here that has imported a gtx so he might be able to help you figure it out. That engine is such a unicorn it's probably better to use the jdm ecu and harness.

Where at in va are you? I'm about 2.5 hrs from dc. I could run over and help you sort out the wiring.

I know the 1.3 DOHC car had some options like a can cooler in the dash top and some suspension adjusting stuff as well. Maybe those weird connectors went to foreign options?

Not much help, but I'd look up the GTX models and see what they had, just to get an idea.

My guess is since the GTX was an 80's model it has similar wiring to our 89 EFI and BF cars.

Definitely seems like the engine to go megasquirt on or some sort of stand alone engine management

Also look up "Festiva GTA." That's the aero nosed version. I think it ran a 1.3 DOHC.
