brave I got cruise set up and working but my next question is what did you do for a clutch switch.bc u know just revs when u push clutch in. I saw a reference to a switch u listed but how did u wire it?some how in parallel with the brake switch I assume.

Please look at page 7 of the Festiva cruise manual (page 8 of the pdf). The wiring diagram is on the last page. You cannot change the switch if you have an ECA. You need the additional microswitch. When you push the clutch in, it should be the same as stepping on the brake. The cruise should cut out.Last edited by bravekozak; 08-28-2013, 09:11 PM.

No problemo. I've seen those 12V SPDT (single pole double throw) microswitches available on the web. Depending on how you wire them, they could be wired either normaly open or closed. You need to wire it normally closed. It will open and break the current flow when you depress the clutch pedal.

I dropped off my aluminum prototype cruise throttle bracket, along with a piece of steel for bending at my local machine shop. I don't have the proper brake to make the bends. I will post pics of it installed, as soon as it is finished. I can't put the dash back in until then, because it is located right behind the left windshield defrost duct.Last edited by bravekozak; 08-29-2013, 06:41 AM.

I have been working on my cruise control for awhile now and can not seem to figure it out.i have the same set up as bravekozak. The only thing is that I have no brake safety valve I could find and where brake safety hose would connect to the servo valve it just has a little nipple plug. Would this still allow my cruise to work? I took the servo apart where the throttle cable comes into it and when I run the car and rev it up the servo bag does not suck in at all. Should it? If I disconnect the hose coming from the vacuum reservoir and hook it to where the brake safety valve is supposed to connect in then my servo bag will suck in but it sucks in with enough pressure that if I rev up the car it will stay at that rev without even touching the cruise stick. Also the light on my dash says my brake is on but I have the e-brake all the way down and have loosened it up but the light stays on. Would this have anything to do with it? I'm am not sure what to check for next I am up to try anything. If I can get this going soon I might say screw it and just put a hand throttle in! If it helps I have a 89 4 speed.

Take the center console off in between the seats and check the contacts on your e-brake cable. The contacts should come apart and not continuously ground when the parking brake is off. Temporarily unplug it to see if the brake light goes out.
If it is still on, then check the brake fluid level sensor by unplugging it beside the master cylinder and see if the light goes out.
If the light is still on, unplug the brake warning lamp check switch. It is attched to the ignition key reminder switch. All the wires are the same color, red/black stripe. Good luck.
Oren is correct, the brake valve is an extra safety.

Does anyone know if the Festiva cruise control actuator cable E0BZ-9A825-B is longer than E0BZ-9A825-A?Last edited by bravekozak; 01-29-2014, 12:49 PM.

I disassembled the RX-7 main cruise control power switch today because my cruise lights wouldn't go on. I probed the contacts with the bulbs out. Power to the cruise computer flows through the tan wire. When the switch is pushed in, a thin piece of metal touches both contacts on the board. Power flows out through the brown/black stripe wire to the cruise computer as well as through the lower bulb to black ground, lighting up the plastic orange dot on the button. The upper bulb lights when power is applied to the red/green stripe wire (when the parking lights are turned on) and flows out the common black ground. The bulbs are bare filament wrapped around opposite nodules so that contact is made when it is twisted into the circuit board. The upper bulb has an orange plastic sock to turn the white letters for the word "CRUISE" to orange.Last edited by bravekozak; 04-21-2014, 08:12 PM.
