  • OEM is 192 degrees on my car. I want a 205

Can someone please step up and direct me towards a 205 that fits the aspire 1.3L engine? My car i bought used, very used heh and it has a BRAND NEW radiator and hoses so i think it can hang with this upgrade. It will make this car warm up and keep its heat. It doesnt get all that cold where i live (southern california) but as soon i am moving more than 20mph the needle is back low in the cold range. I think its costing me mileage and upping the emissions that I havent even tested yet. I plan on upgrading to a 4 wire oxygen sensor this week as well to try and beat emissions with the heated wire trick.

I understand the wanting to go warmer , but if it is cooling off that quick , it sounds like the thermostat is stuck open .

Even when it is real cold , like 9 above in the morning (Tue) here
My gauge will be slow to climb , but maintain on the gauge .
The car itself will get cooler inside , because of the un-insulated pop can effect

It's very easy to test a thermostat with a pan of water on the stove & a meat thermometer. I'm just saying...

I'd try the OEM one first. Going hotter won't do you any favours in terms of longevity.

Mine did the same thing do to a stuck stat. I replaced mine with a b6t But a cheap honest fix is covering about 1/2 to a1/4 rad with cardboard. not rite but a cheap fix.

"Cold" is relative... my wife and I were up at Emerald Lake about 45 minutes west of Banff, Alberta. When we left on Sunday morning it was -32°C (-26°F).

Car started OK and warmed up fairly well too now that I have the proper thermostat in.

my 95 aspire during the summer had no problems warming up, but come winter it would only warm up when sitting still, but when i went to moving it went back down to c lol replaced teh tstat about 3 weeks ago and what a diffrence lol, although my tstat i got at advance and it was the exact same that i pulled out,

now tell me if you can why some take a dual stage tstat please.

My POS aspire won't warm up if I'm not moving. If I'm on the interstate it warms up fine, but the second I get off and slow down or come to a stop sign the gauge starts dropping.

Then again, it was neg 20 this week. But even when it's near zero it does that.

I used an autozone replacement, no difference temp always reads 160 once it warms up
(IEQUUS electric gauge). takes about 10- 15 minutes to warm up on a cold day sitting
                        still.

Engine is dead. dying engines don't give a lot of heat heh. I've got a good lead on a 16 valve sohc. Im not sure about my obd-2 but ill cross that river when i get there.
