  • new festiva :) and my new custom mirrors

Hello all, here's my new Festiva, sorry the pics were taken at night, and here are my new custom mirrors with blue signals on the front and on the edge of the inside, Euro style also in the last picture is the "by Romano" emblem actually associated with the Festiva? or do you think someone put that on there?

Nice rust above Romano .... was the romano badge screwed straight through the metal?

Cant say the mirrors are to my tastes, but good work at making them fit.

There are perfect holes with plastic gromets that the screws thread into behind the badge. looks like a factory job.

Possibly a dealer incentive to sell the car at the time?

Pass on the mirrors, sorry, but to me, they look a bit cheap and tacky, tacked on. Am I allowed to be honest?

Also, the "by Romano" is just a dealer id plate. Romano Ford is a Ford dealer in Fayetteville New York..

^^^ Yup. They one of the dealers I covered when I worked for Ford. It was common practice till the mid 90's to screw a dealer ID tag to the vehicle. Fed's then passed a law saying that was a non-approved 'modification', and they weren't allowed to do that anymore, so dealers switched to stick-ons.

heres the video... doesn't do these things much justice at all, they are bright, and in the video u can barely see the inside light, my camera sucks at doing videos, also im thinking about upgrading them to LED's, they came with different bulbs to change to green, red, white and amber, but i chose blue. http://img532.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ov01165rv5.flv

the style of the mirrors seems ok, you certainly get props for mounting them but i agree with quaddawg, they look tacked on...if you could cut a mounting plate to fill in the gap left by the factory setup i think they'd look nice

Be warned: You might get pulled for the blinkers on the Mirrors. My friend did for them being on his Focus.

I don't see how the Police can do that since manufactors do it from the factory.

Well, My friend got pulled for them and argued that Euro cars have them stock. The cop said "No, those are aftermarket on them too" and gave him a fix-it ticket.

well i asked my locla police station the day i put them on, they said "Technically, they make the car safer to drivers around you, gets there attention and says HEY IM TURNING" sounds reasonable to me.
