    So sasquatch and I were at the JY today and sasquatch made a discovery! an 89 camry shift boot fits the console!!!
    as pictured below

    Dah! Look at my previous posts. Did you use the retaining ring also. Now If you can find a gray shift knob off of a early 90's MX6. Or my be a 626 you will have a close copy of the LX console.

                No ring required. Cliped in perfect...i think to get it in i slid one side in first.

                      It is just a longer and bigger boot at the bottom...and it goes in from the top instead of from underneath....nice sub for an original.

                          So does that come with the same retainer as the LX or a very good replacemant? and is the 89 the only one that works?

                            The boot has clips on the bottom...no retainer ring...89 camry is what we found it on but any camry of that body style should work i would think.
