  • round headlights

ok ive seen it done, and read some of the threads and couldnt figure it out.
i need new headlights, cause mine are all rusty, and was wanting to do the round ones.
what kind of car would have some that work with little or no fabbing mounts?
is there any with plug and play?

also i wanted to go ahead and do an hid conversion. i dont really know anything about that other than what i read, you need to do an actual conversion and not just get bulbs.

so is there anything i can get and kill two birds with one stone?

Found that craigslist ad. In it is a picture of the front end and the following:

Monkeyracing was going to make a kit to do the conversion to round headlight. It used the existing Festiva brackets with Golf headlights.

Roger does not have any more 121 headlights. If he did, I would have bought them 2 yrs ago. As I understood it, I got the last set, and it was a used pair. I have mocked up a set of the VW headlights on one of mine too, and they look like a good option!

Doesn't a company make the conversion kit with a lens cover as well? Isn't it CWS tuning or something like that?

Are those VW mounts? They look like speaker box rings. A sound idea!

As for round lenses, I'm pretty sure you can still get them off the shelf, same as trim rings - for older cars like, Cutlasses, Chevelles and stuff, and TORINOS! But they're sealed units, not replaceable halogen bulbs. I don't know if any of the newer aftermarket reproductions are designed with replacement bulbs in mind. Might be worth a look.

I like your setup L'ilHoe. Same car colour too.
                          Cheers!

H4 (separate bulb and housing) conversions are easy to get on ebay or other custom car parts companies. From what I understand, just get the brackets from any car with 7" round headlights from the junkyard, like VW GTi's, Rabbits, Westfalias, old Chevys/GMC pickups, for example, and do some minor custom work.
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

The real trick would be to fabricate trim bezels to give it a "finished" look.
