well im almost done with my bumpers the rear is pretty much done it looks great! the front needed alot of work!! im guessing the reason it needed more works is maybe all the scratchs came from rock chips? but the molding on both bumpers where shaved. on the front i spot patched all the scars and almost done i have a few light scratches i missed that i will need to dab probably on monday and then paint that one bumper black as well. the rear i modified the rear bumper support to come closer to the body alowing for the shorter bumper, i still need to get the brackets welded so i can mount the rear bumper. As for the front bumper i may leave it off for now so i can mount up and mock up my intercooler.

no i wish! thats why im not sure if i want to do a lot of work to these bumpers or just get the fms bumpers but hearing f3bz stories i dont know, i maybe better off building my own kit...

well unfortunetly i didnt take many pictures to do a detailed write up the painter who painted the car was suppose to finish the bumpers. the painter did not know what he was doing when i first showed him the idea he just want to cut it shorter, i had the idea of remoing about a 1 1/2 section from the side and then joinin it back together. i cut the secton out and the body guy tried to fiber glass them back together, when he gave me the unfinished bumpers the fiber glass was britle and the ends just broke off! he also tried to use regular bondo that is a big no no!! regular bondo is to brittle and does not adhere to the plastic good. When joining the 2 ends together my buddy actully plastic welded the 2 halfs together. he was actullying taking a plastic welding class at his union hall. the plastic weldeing worked great! it made a strong bond, the plastic weld was clumpy and needed to be sanded and filled. for sanding and filling i used a special filler i believe it was called ICE by 3m ill get the name for sure latter. its a great filler the bumper can flex and nothing cracks it all flows like it was just a plastci bumper. i used filler primer to help hide small imperfections and to fill in the texture of the older style bumpers. once the primers was all finished next was a coat of adhesiva promoter and then the bumper black paint.
