short shifter question

Ok, please move this if not in the right spot, wasn't quite sure where to post it. I've read that 98-01 acura intregra short shifter will fit into a festiva, I was just wondering if this short shifter here would fit:

it says that the years are 94-01, so I am just wondering.

Both would fit. Don't know about the quality of those though

They might be alright if you aren't constantly slamming them into gear...I've just read on here that the cheap ones may break on you!

The two better quality ones that people have used on here are the ford probe pacesetter shifter, and the civic hurst shifter. They cost a little more, but I'm sure they are worth it.

Are you near any members that have short shifters? Maybe you should test a festiva with a short shifter before buying one that expensive. I don't have one because stock is great for me. Some members dont like the feeling and eventually switch back to stock, hence wasting money.

I do like that one! Good brand, but has the price to prove it. I got a regular civic shifter from the junkyard, but I haven't installed it yet. Also, it isn't a short throw shifter, but it's shorter in size than the festiva shifter. I just got it to see how it feels compared to the festy shifter, and then see if I would want to go to a short throw shifter.

I'n in need of a civic short shifter because of the difference in shift knob thread pitch...my skunk2 knob doesn't fit my festiva pacesetter shifter.

I have been slamming mine (just like the second one but blue) throught the gears hard for over a year and havnt had a problem yet. I will be putting one in the race car soon to. I got mine in ebay for like 10 bucks or something. I called pacesetter once about the Probe one and they said it was discontinued.

I have an integra 89-01 short shifter... and SO FAR it works great... i am not slamming the gears, and baby it...
you'll have to do 2 main things for this mod:
1. spacers where the bolt goes through from the shifter to the linkage
2. The pivot "ball" on the shoft shifter is a hair bigger than stock.... so.. the spring that holds shifter ball down needs to be cut, to accomodate the larger ball.... hard to explain if you haven't had one out before...
