lights on: tach and headlights off????

you wired into the dimmer switch!!!! you need a constant power and ground ad then the other two wires are signal and light. you can't have the constant ground attached to the light switch.

i got the illuminate wired through the headlights??? im so confused

^I'm at work but i got pics of the wire on my home compy...ill post em this evening. As for the illumination, i just tapped into the dimmer switch.

yes... white is the lights.. i did mine to the headlamp.. which i tapped into at the dimmer switch (but not the dimmer lead) i can't recall off the top of my head what wire color it is..

lol when i tried putting that vintage tach in mine i put illumination into the cigarette lighter fuse.... i'm from iowa so it seemed like an perty nice idea... worked too
