      93

It was said that some Festivas do not have the three holes in the brace. The 93 Festiva does.

Casper is a 91 and has the three screw holes; I suspect they all have them.

My 88 L has the 3 holes ......and the Escort dome light
THANKS to WCBARKER for the heads up on the wiring combo !
I was wondering why the dome light didnt come on when switched to the "ON" position. I had mapp lights, and dome light worked when opening door, but not by switch. Checked and had it backwards. (of course). Now it works as it should.

I got one of these light fixtures today from a junkyard, and all the wires were grey, with no colored stripes. I was able to get it working correctly by connecting the red/white to the grey on the left side, and connecting the red/blue to the right side.
(Right and left according to picture on page 1.)

The dome light doesn't work in "door" mode, but I think that is my car's problem.

sooo...I removed my old one yesterday, cut the wires, and then came online and found this thread. Today I installed the escort light. My map lights work since they're grounded in the center bolt but the dome light doesn't work at all whether it's in the ON or DOOR switches. My old light would 80% of the time whenever it would come on and when it came on it was on until you shut the door. I also took out the driver door sensor, hit it with some WD and wiped it off where the pin touches the bracket when the door is open and it didn't help. I also know I wired it right because I did it like the first post said, then switched it (it didn't work) then I put it back and crimped it together. idk much about the grounds in the doors, the wire is a solid RED or something similar so idk where that connects to the blue/red or white/red if that's even my problem

i did this today, instead of cutting the car's wiring i cut the plug off an old front seat belt connector (T connector too) and cut the plug off the map light! i hate cutting plugs off a car.

note to Schildir: mine has the same all gray wires, but mine works okay. I'd check your connectors real close like if you haven't already checked/fixed it.

I did this recent to, but i have a sunroof so i turned it around so the map lights face the back seat.

My problem is, and i dont know why is that the dome light works for about a week then my bulb goes out. Put a new one in and then a week later that bulb goes. I have no idea why its burning through these??
