I have an appointment next week with a fiberglass shop for miniguns fenders to get some estimates. The paln is to make the fenders without the wheel cut outs so people can match the size of the opening to the tires they want to run.

I am planning wheel well flairs for the festiva something like this.
I know this is a truck but you get the idea. As far as cost of a complete kit FMS sells front & rear bumpers for $325 each, side skirts for $250 a pair. So you are looking at $900 for their parts and still have the same clearance issues you had with the stock pieces. I would love to beat that price I will just have to see when I go talk to them in person and take them the bumper covers, fenders & hood.

Yeah I figure that would be a heck of alot easier than the whole fender.Current cars:

1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)

it will be a whole fender, just with the extra lip for tire clearance.Trees aren't kind to me...

That style of fender flare on a festiva is going to look out of place without a RWD offset rim....
Good luck with your fabrications I'm anxious to see the final product.---------------------------------------------------

I was thinking about that all the way to work yesterday, and if you did nothing more than take the whole fender as it is on each side and sort of add a spacer to the fenders to expand them out as a whole to add maybe 4 inches to the width of the car without changing the look. Expand the width front & rear under the windows and at the top of the fenders to make the widebody look and connect the widened parts with a trim piece under the door... I'll make a drawing asap. I have a few more ideas too, just gimme some time.In love with a MadScientist!:thumbright:

Well, this isn't what I had in mind, but it's close. Honestly, that kit in particular looks poorly assembled and a little too busy, but the bridge between the fender flares is more like it. Instead of overexaggerating the stock flares, just pull the whole body minus the doors out 2 inches...Like THIS.Last edited by DriverOne; 10-20-2009, 07:36 AM. I would just like some nice wide front and rear fender flares like others said that are made for the festiva, maybe so they would make the wheel arches look symmetrical too. That way I can cut out the back of the fenders and slam the car :-)

Yeah, I don't know why they insisted on squaring off the wheel wells. Looks more like a truck almost than a car... I was gonna mention this, but they even arched the wells!Last edited by DriverOne; 10-21-2009, 11:28 PM.In love with a MadScientist!:thumbright:
