  • C pillar bar source

Decided to try out my c pillar bar on the festy, and it fits! It's from a 00 civic hatchback, but all bars from 92-00 should fit. Sorry for the crappy quality, but are some pics..

You hang clothes on it, Lincoln town cars used to have these back in the day.

Dang, I thought it might be like a shock tower bar for the rear!
        Always called those clothes bars.

Cancel that c pillar bar fitting....it gets in the way of the hatch strut!! Ooops! Guess you could still use it if you really wanted to though. It fits the strut towers too, so you could put it there if you wanted

doesn't that limit your rear cargo capacity? haha.. that is sweet. anxious to see if there is a difference in handling.

The strut that holds the hatch up hits the bar when you try to close the hatch. You would have to take that strut out if you wanna use the c pillar bar in that position. If you want to mount yours higher you will have to drill and tap new holes. I just installed it in the existing seat belt holes

So you're saying it will fit onto the top of the rear shock mount, so it would go across to the other side to connect the two shock towers? Just like a strut brace for the front?

Yep, fits there too. I put it on but didn't bolt it down. BTW, these bars can be had on ebay for like $15-25 shipped, so it's a fairly cheap mod!

yeah i got my front bar for 26 shipped and the rear 30 bucks both same brand. i will be making another bracket the mounts the bar to the strut as well as the body for extra strength. i would say to do this as well, but i don't know if it is really improving any thing tho.
also i think if you find a smaller strut for the hatch you can remount it and still have a strut.

                          blocked view

Doesn't it block the rear view? It would be better to put it just behind the rear seat between the seat supports.
I used to hang clothes from the rollbar of my Jeep.

can you try it behind the seat (where there is a threaded hole) to put a 4pts harness
