and to answer jim - there's no possible way junspeed's are lighter cause this stocker is nearly weightless! 12 bux shipping from across the country. it is seriously featherweight.

wet sanding, got the crappy black spray paint off and smoothed out the rough spots, the red was the stock color and didn't seem like it would be worth rubbing it all off.

        ready for paint

I would skip that clear if I where you.
I painted mt tool box and wheels on my car that color and cleared the box and didn't clear the wheels the wheel look much better. The clear gets hazy if it's over 70 out t drys too fast and will leave dry spray before you get around that spoiler

                  thank ya! I concur!

work has me gone for another 2 weeks so it's just hanging in the garage for the time being. the last coat was pretty rough, think im gonna get some real fine sandpaper, I was using 800 may get some 1000 and 1500 and do some real light dusting coats with sanding in between.

once I get the paint where I like it, I'm gonna attempt to mount it with only 3m VHB tape. it just kinda sketches me out that my spoiler that's worth it's weight in aluminum is essentially just "taped" on. Wish I knew for sure someone else had luck with it.

hopefully get some caps from froggyrocket on here to finish up the look...

Rustoleum is a good paint but a little heavy and orange peel is hard to avoid. i had good results using 2/3 coats of dupli-color clear gloss. twice as expensive but an automotive quality paint. maybe spray the underside and see how it looks before you commit.

I use 3m dubble sided tape all the time at work for moldings and stuff but I wouldn't trust it to hold by its self.
There pretty small Attachment points. I would use some screws .
I would check color match before going to far With wet sanding and buffing the seaside is close for a spray car but dosnt really match.

just paint rest of car to match!
i'd be a little afraid of trusting just tape too. some small plastic body grommets would ad peace of mind even if you had to drill into the body. these are the grommets they were mounted with. not a big hole. also the sticky pads on both ends.

Looks like the car is Surf Blue. That Rustoleum paint is really close the the stock Festiva Aqua!

Ahh yea makes sense Ian. Think I'm gonna go white with it for now. Also thinkin just getting self tapping sheet metal screws and seal it up with silicon along with the 3m vhb tape
