Careful what you say, I had a battery overcharge, but not explode.

What I did was I went to Canadian Tire (Walmart equivalent for Canada) and bought a boat battery box. Cost was $20. I sealed the box up nice and tight, and drilled a hole in the middle of the box. I then ran a small tube from the hole to the outside of the car. That way it is safe, completely sealed and nothing to worry about. I then went on to run 0 gauge wire, as I got it for about $35.
Total cost was $55-$60, but it works well. I hope this helps.

I went to walmart and couldn't find a sealed battery box. I think I figured it out though. My battery has the rectangular vents like the Miatas, So I bought the tubes that attach to those vents. I'll run them to the floor and I should still be fine, I'll just make a clamp system with a piece of aluminum and some threaded rod.
