Thanks,

You're welcome, Frankie. I hope you can get this going so we have some FG hoods to choose from! Make 'em good quality and not too expensive and I think you'll have plenty of customers.

My chassis shop buddy builds high end Outlaw 10.5 drag cars. These guys have lots of coin and usually use CF or race weight fiberglass hoods. He often has to modify them to clear turbo or centrifical blower tubing. He usually lays strips of foam weatherstriping on the underside of the hood, like you'd put around a door on your house, a window, garage door, etc. It's about 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick, with a single side that's sticky. He then lays strips of fiberglass over this, not pressing it down. This stiffens up the hood considerably plus it's light weight. All the foam is there for is to form the fiberglass strips into a sort of U channel.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

Frankie, another question, how do you take into consideration shrinkage on the hood? I know fiberglass shrinks, but I'm unaware how much. (I ask because I want to build a fiberglass decklid for my '63 Fairlane drag car project.)1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

well if you have a mold which im in the process of making you will lay fiberglass in on and over the mold so when you pop it out you cut to fit.Frankie
