I used to ship furniture on E-bay when the cost was less and gas was cheaper.
Was the outsid of the box damaged?. If it was not, the hood was damaged prior to boxing. I used to re-inforce the areas of concern so I would not have to go thru this with customers. I hope it works out. Make sure you do not have to eat the return shipping cost. Fed Ex and UPS I think insure up to $100 automatically. If the Seller was smart he/she would have paid the few bucks for the over $100 insurance.
