Since i had a 2006 ranger i can add insight. You flip the ground and high beam to convert a 9004 to a 9007. The ranger headlights in the ranger are held down by a type of channel strip of metal that locks them into place into the core support. Making your own can be as easy as snipping on the festiva support with tin snips and bending the metal back so it holds. What i would be weary of is the housing bouncing along on the road looking like you are flashing your high beams. This has happened to me on past projects where i didnt weld things and just tried to do it quickly. If you get it as close to how the OEM fastens it should be fine tho.

I would like to see pictures of the back of the ranger light up against the festiva area, how it's put in

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

I'd like to see on-the-road light beam comparison shots between the stock headlights and the Ranger lights.

is the 9007 in all rangers or just the newer ones? also what years work for this swap and how hard is the HID setup to hookup after you switch from 9004 to 9007?

wow! excellent modification, the cutting is minimal in the body, I guess the grill was not compromised in the amendment
if I write badly....thanks google translator

The grill does have to be cut, I just held it in place and marked the upper and lower edges. Then cut it on the bandsaw, took about 30 seconds.

I bought Ranger corners as part of the package, $55.00 free shipping of ebay. The Ranger corners are close but just not right. The years are 2001-2010.

That looks awesome. I was just going to go through the trouble of replacing my bent headlight filler brackets when I saw this. It's looks just as easy to go ahead and swap the headlights and cut the brackets... Thanks for the weekend project idea..

As a plus, I've got a KIA Pride grille that may not need cutting for the lights to fit.

Break the two lower tabs. cram the 9004 in. Loose some output but no wiring mods needed. Ranger lights are MUCH brighter vs stock festy lights.

fwiw I used a sawzall to mod the core support. a pair of kiddie scissors could have sufficed.

i did not do the corners in my swap because I got the housings uuber cheap and they did not come with corners, so I improvised.

I used washers and body spacers to take up the slack in the stock ranger mounts with the original retainer clip.
