Possible Bumper Replacement Thread

After seeing the Stylus bumper in person I have been looking at older boxy cars to see what other options are out there. And I haven't made my millions yet so no GTX/FMS kit for me.

The one that sticks most out to me is from a 2001 Subaru Outback Sport.





Any other ideas?

If that fit, it'd be great for turbo setups that need a huge intercooler opening.

That looks definitely possible. The bumper will have to be cut at the wheels to meet the curve of your wheel wells, but I've seen it done before.

As do the stylus bumpers. But that is a Minor mod. The key is to find one that the width is very close, then getting good mounting points.

Theoretically, cutting out a middle section would be totally possible... so I actually see the width issue as relatively minor compared to the sweeping flow of the wheel arches. That's always been the biggest one for me when it comes to bumper swaps. On the plan B side, there's always the acclaimed S10 lip or garden lawn edging for budget jobs!

Very true! I just figured for the average person it would be easier than cutting out the center or maybe just might be a cleaner job. Although anything is possible with the right skills and tools. But it is true the wheel arches are crutial as well.

I had been looking at doing this with an impreza bumper, but I think I like the forester better, and they are pretty easy to find at salvage yards.

how did he mend the two pieces back together in the middle? fiberglass? plastic weld?

Last night I walked past a KIA Sportage, they have short bumper ends like our cars.

As far as gluing bumpers back together, there is a bumper epoxy that body shops use the can be.handed and molded, its said that the repair is stronger than the bumper.
