  • Front Air Dam! WHAT???

Haha, Mike (Sasquatch) gave me a piece of plexi, and so this is what I did with it!

I was originally thinking of just making a grill block, but then I thought "might as well do the whole thing!"

First few pics are of the air dam, my mirrors, and then there is one of the Kamm-Back, and then my handy turnbuckle that is my easy E-brake adjustment!

Enjoy! ( Also, notice the SINGLE wiper! That is where it sits at rest, and when on it turns all the way to the edge of the windsheild on the drivers side......)

Ps. I adjusted these pics so people with slow internet can view them easier.

I know that you put the spot mirrors in the car to reduce drag, but I may very well do something similar in my car! Aside from drag reduction, what advantages do you have by mounting those mirrors there? Are there any blind spots? I'm a truck driver, and I love lots of mirrors for added visibility in anything I drive.

If you are talking about adding them to your festiva (rather than your truck) I would do it even if you had the outside mirrors. There are no blind spots and in fact, with the oversized mirror in the center, I double up on most of the viewing angles!

The center mirror you can get (in Canada) at Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and a few other places. And the little mirrors can be found at similar places. The little mirrors are mounted on angle brackets (from the dollar store 2/$1) and just friction fitted into the plastic moulding (interior of the car)

The whole mirror set up cost less than $25, and is far superior to the stock mirrors (especially if you only have the drivers side)

There are two reasons for that......

1 - The drivers side wiper mount had disconnected underneath, and the only way to fix it was to cut off the grill and reweld it, etc....

2 - By having the one wiper, I reduce the drag while the wiper is not on (most of the time), but not by too much (maybe .01%, lol)

I could not get my e-brake tight after fixing the cable, so I just put the turnbuckle in the line and, as turn buckles are for tightening a cable, it works well!

The only thing is, that clamp had to be added as I couldnt get the turnbuckle not to slowly loosen......So I added the $2 clamp so it will only loosen half a turn and hit the body and stop.....
