  • Pics of my Balls and how to use em

Some have also asked for close up pics of the hitch too so I will try.
The main beam is 1/4 inch 2' square tubing and is bent to go around
the spare tire well as I off road a lot and need the clearance. They are
welded to the tie downs inside and out.

A new tail pipe mount was fashioned to clear the new beam. The tailpipe is
chrome LOL sure cant tell in this pic.

here is a pic from the rear showing 2" tubing curving around the tire well

Chrome ( really!) tip clears all and does not burn anything. Rubber hangers..

My balls laid out on the tongue, You can see how the little balls work
inside the shaft to hold one of the big balls. Its really nice.

This last pic shows one of the balls firmly in place ready for service. I keep
the other ball in a little pocket in the back of the car so it can be switched
as needed. I sure like them. I see I can get bigger balls on line but most
of the trailer hitches I get into are smaller anyway. The 2" has held the few
    2 5/16 trailers I needed to move

Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. I would do the same kind of set-up but bolted to the tow hooks. And a removeable hitch. Thank you so much.

If you plan it with a bolt diagonal from each other..length between bolts
the more the better, with tight holes and extra threads for really good
holding torque, that would be good. A female receiver could be welded
to the beam on the rear side just as easy. An old leaf spring could be welded
across the bottom and bolted to the crossmember at the rear of the gas tank, and the spare tire well too as
far as that goes for extra strength.

Hey moving not to change the subject about "Balls". But I peeped your winterforce tires. At least thats what I think they are. I used them and liked em. But then this year got the "General's" http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....reMake=General
I like em better, deep snow traction is just as good. They tread cleans out well. But the rain traction and side bite is were they really shine. The firestones didnt have much side bite in the corners. The one thing I'm not happy with is the fuel mileage. But its just the nature of the beast. I've got over 12k on these this year. And tread wear is nice and even.
PS Nice Balls by the way...

The concept of interchangeable trailer hitch balls is a new one on me but certainly makes sense. How often have I borrowed a boat or utility trailer only to discover I have the wrong ball.

That looks like mine. I bolted mine to the tie downs instead of welding so I can use it on my other festivas.
