So i decided that im going to retrofit Acura TL HID's into my stock festy housing with glass, working at a body shop has advantages ! , the goal is to have stock looking housings with a nice HID look and light spread, without all the blinding light pollution that PnP HIDs usually produce,:nono:
anyways so after dismantling the tl headlamps and heating the test housing in the oven @ 275 for like 40 mins , took the glass out and removed the center light spreader. as you can see i have pretty much all i will need for this project!
ok here we goooo!
a quick comparison of the stock festiva center piece and the TL center piece
im testing to see if this will give the desired effect, i see this causing alot of undesired light spread ! (the stock bulb has the tip blacked out)
Notice it fits quite close to the stock size! (woooooo)
i removed the stock TL mounting tabs to make it about the same length as the stock festy one
It seems to fit pretty nicely !
PS it becomes difficult to take progress pics holding parts and playing cameraman
..... END of day 1 !
im going to take the bulbs and locking tabs out of my project festiva so i can use the bulb socket and retainer to get a nice fit. more to come ! hope you guys enjoy !
