  • prelude seats?

i know some of you are using prelude seats. i love them and had to have a pair in mine so i picked some up. the other night i test fitted them and the two front bolts worked but in the farthest back position it still wasnt as far back as i would like them. so does anyone have pics of there's and how they mounted them?

Are you saying Prelude seats are a 'near perfect' fit with regard to fastening bolts? That would really make my day. If'n this is really true what years and models are we looking at?

If these guys are using the ones w/ the adjustable seat bolsters, they're like 89-94 or something close to that. It's the prelude that doesn't like like it has a pig nose. Long, low, flat hood.

mattswab has a thread on how to perform this swap as pretty much a bolt in option. I forget the year but they are later years. I know the early year seat are a lot more fabbing. I have had both.

here is the thread....starting at post #34 I believe. He used 93 seats...

I know when I fitted the 90 prelude seats for ENEMY_ 's zefstiva I had to chop and reweld all 4 corners of each seat slider to get them in.
Im not driving a Festiva because I'm poor. I drive a Festiva because i want to!

So uhhhh, why are y'all guys having brackets welded/tabs made/kitties stomped with the Prelude seats?

^^ Because the best reason to ditch the Festiva seats is to have a new base on it, not a new back with the old base At least to me, that is.
                        No festiva for me ATM...

So you put the Festy bottoms on the Prelude uppers?

Kinda, but more like modifying frames so that the Prelude upper goes onto the Festy bottom.

The bottom rails and frames (with minor, no-weld mods) bolt to the Prelude backs. The Prelude cushions will fit the Festy rails and frames. I'll take pictures as I do it.

honestly Don...you are doing way more work then you need to. If you have 92 to 96 seats...then you oblong one of the rear mount holes and add a piece of barstock (with bolts, no welding) and that is it. The fronts match up.

But you can do it any way that floats your boat...
