I just pulled a set of seats out of a 92' Prelude.
Which mounts need the tabs? having a bit a of a difficult time trying to figure out how these go in properly.
On the passenger side, after lining up the two front bolts, the rear inner stud hits the inner rail. What am I doing wrong?1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

I still have yet to do anything about the front inner mount, they don't go high enough to use a steel tab, but don't go low enough just to throw the stock bolt through it. I will figure it out eventually, the safety aspect doesn't concern me too much.
The steel I used is thicker than the steel on the rails, and the bolts are all tightened down as tight as they will go.

Inner rear mount, the only mount that doesn't require any fabbing.

Torque, could you take a pic of the front inner mount that you are working on now?

Seat has little, to no give either up or down, so I can't lift it up far enough to use a tab, and it won't go low enough just to use just the mount hole.
Currently, I am fine with just three of the four mounts. Some people may think that is a safety concern, and they are probably right. But I just feel that the seat is safe enough for me, and that is all that matters.
It would take quite an impact to break the other mounts, enough so that I would probably be dead either way.Last edited by TorqueEffect; 04-22-2013, 01:09 PM.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

Fixed it.
Chopped the outer sides of the rails off, and enlarge the mount hole, then you can use the front inner mount. Though the picture above doesn't show the enlarged hole.
The passenger seat was a bit of a pain, I still couldn't get it to line up, so I had to also lengthen the hole on the inner rear rail.1991 Ford Festiva BP (Full Aspire/Rio Swap) (337k Miles) (Around 95k Engine)

Nice. I'm still debating cheapo eBay seats or paying someone for some of these. Probably just eBay. Sucks not having a good yard close by. Nearest self serve is 5 hours away.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
