Re: New Steering Wheel! My favorite interior mod EVER!

My "name brand" grant was only 50 bucks... And they don't bend... Not knocking the cheap ebay ones, I don't personally know cuz never owned one. But I can say that my grant in my rock crawler I use to pull myself in and has never bent.

I can also attest to the strength of the Grant wheels. The steel is just as thick as the stock steering wheel, and at $50 it is a pleasant upgrade from the ultra-thin, stock wheel.

I'm gonna be selling mine soon. I got it installed last week and as much as I like the look it blocks my view of the tach/speedo and it drives me nuts. Looks great though!

Rafe, switch to a 14" wheel. Grant has a lot of cool wheels.

I don't really mind the stock wheel. This Grant was just an impulse buy cause I found it local.

Sorry Gabe, had to take your idea for white dash parts, though I was stupid and painted the blower vents, will pull some off a festy when I go to get my Rio struts.

The car in question is a red GL with alloy rims that a member here scrapped at a junkyard in Cincinnati, all because it had a blown motor and was too damn lazy to look for someone on here that would have willingly bought it on the spot, and he would have got at least $100-$200 more than what that junkyard probably gave him.
If anyone plans on getting parts off this car, don't take the hood please, I am in desperate need of one and that one is pristine, I will trade it for a white one in the same shape though, a red hood on a white Festiva just won't look right, plus I hear a red hood in good shape are hard to find.

Also got my new steering wheel installed. My only complaint is the build quality of the hub adapter, and the one of the screws stripped so the head allenwrenches just spin in it. Other than that the wheel is solid, haven't truly driven around other than around the block yet, but it feels great.

Sorry, crappy camera on my phone with not so great lighting.

Wow... We need to get our cars together... If you painted the white, when it gets dusty, and you go to clean it, MOST paints (yes, even krylon for plastics) will come off when you wipe it down. Mine are white plastidip'd! I guess imitation is the greatest form of flattery... Looks good!

Thanks, though now my blue seat covers clash with the rest of the car. =/ Oh well... heh I should really get some black floor-mats as well and replace my grey ones.

And about the peeling paint, I will be sure to wipe the dust off with a dry microfiber cloth then on the painted areas.
lol problem solved, as long as nothing gets spilled on it. :p
