  • Merkur XR4ti Leather Seats

I'm considering getting a set of leathers from a Merkur XR4ti for my Festiva. Has anyone attempted this swap? I'm still awaiting measurements via email, hoping they're not too wide.

Read my Tiburon leather seat install. Just mount the seats a little toward the doors and the shifter won't touch.

Tell me that the XR4ti is in un-fixable shape... Too sweet of a car to strip, if it can be saved!

        Merkur XR4ti Leather Seats

^^he didn't say he owned a merkur, just looking into a set from one

A friend of mine has a merkur and I think the seats would be a little too wide for a festiva

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I was looking at the Merkur seats in this picture and it seems about the same size as the Tiburon seats to me.

Unfortunately I think the XR has been parted out and stripped already. But the front leather seats are mint, very comfortable, and supportive.

If you love chasing electrical gremlins, spontaneous car fires and sobbing like a baby with a loaded .357 pistol in your mouth trying to talk yourself out of pulling the trigger... you NEED a Merkur!

You can make them fit. Look how I mounted my Tib seats which are the same size. I fabricated the mounts so that they will just bolt into any Festiva.
If you need any rivets for your seat mounts, I have a few extra left over that I can sell you. I guarantee that your seat won't move anywhere once you clinch these puppies in place. You will not want to get out of your car once you have leather seats.

I think they are heated but mine didnt. Every hose and oil line on my old merk exploded, leaked or both lol.
