  • Interior Plastic Painting

Hey guys i've done a popular upgrade on this site. The previous owner of this festiva had cracked the plastic around the radio and I took some JB weld putty and glued it back together. Then I cleaned it sanded it down and painted it a similar red to the exterior of the car. I'm pretty happy with the results so check em out.

Do you think painting the door pockets would be a little too much red?

          My 5 cents:
you should get the center airvents in original color OR side airvents in same red. Would balance the color.

I don't think it would have too much red, if door pockets would be also red, I would suggest to paint the surrounding of gearselector..
Hi! Do you wanna ride with me? I have red cabrio, it has the biggest engine what was available when the car was new. It also has about every possible accessories what was available then.

What did you use to paint it?

Paint the lip of the pockets red, paint the top of the arm rests red, and paint the knobs on the vents red, and ring the tach & speedo with a 1/16" red pinstripe. Less is more.

I used KRYLON fusion plastic paint. It was 7.99 at the hardware store. I sanded the plastic a little bit but I know if you want a really professional look you can buy adhesion promoter spray. It's a clear spray that makes paint stick like crazy and will require less coats. This with some sanding took me 4-5 coats.

I really like the idea of doing the lips of the pockets red and a ring around the speedo. That would look really sharp!
