ok I found a nice set of 14 inch rims. I don't know to much about offset. does anyone know what a +38mm offset will look like or how it will fit??

They will fit, but probably will require 1/4 - 5/16 inch spacers in the rear to clear the rear strut's spring perch.Dan

We need to know rim width too. I run 13 X 5.5" VW alloys with 38mm offset. They clear my Aspire struts fine but will rub the rear fender lip with 175/70s.

Stay under a 60 height tire, preferably 50. Like 175-185/50/14 or there abouts.
You can pick the overall tire diameter by changing that middle number.
You may know this already, the first number is the width of tire in MM, and the second number is the height, in percentage of the width, the last being the rim size.
You can stay close to the stock dia by using a tire with a smaller number in the second place.
Here is a tire size calculator, which you can use to determine what tire height will match close to the stock size tire. This will help clear the tire/strut by using a tire that will fit better.

90, the rims you have will fit without issue. i recomend you use a 165/60/14 so that you won't have to worry about rubbing and you'll also be >.< this close to being perfectly accurate on your speedo/odoTrees aren't kind to me...
