D & R emailed me today. The black vinyl cards are ready for pickup. Exactly two weeks as promised. I will pick them up later next week. They should make my Festiva look like a Lexus inside.

I destroyed the good door cards the minute I punched the third screw hole in both sides for the long Pride armrests.

Gotcha, gotcha. That makes me feel less sad

I found a Festiva in the junk yard yesterday with one good door card *sigh*
It's weird, someone took very random parts from that car.

I picked up the door cards today. I will install them on the weekend.
Here is a closeup. Here is another closeup. He used the same stuff that he normally uses to pad a vinyl roof. Nothing happens if it gets wet.

I only copied the original Tiburon door panels that match my Tiburon leather seats. I had to cover the window crank hole since I have power windows. I have black plastic cups with chrome metal finger pulls. With the seats offset toward the doors, I have no use for gray map pockets.
Thank goodness I have a large tank of R-12 for all the black carpeting and black floor mats. I have also decided to re-install my black leather RX-7 shift knob. I could kick myself for not buying a new red stitch black leather steering wheel on eBay when I had the chance.

Man, that's gonna look excellent! Are you planning to paint your dash and
                  plastics black as well?

I just picked up a carpet out of junk car today that I'm going to attempt
to dye a darker gray and shampoo to see if it'll bring some life back into
                  the matted piling.

I tried power washing the dirt out of another gray Festiva carpet from Arizona on my driveway.
It was thin to begin with, so I accidentaly blasted a couple of holes in it. The matting problem was not alleviated. I strongly recommend buying a new carpet. Kia carpets are very poor quality.

No, I don't paint or dye plastic. I originally wanted these door panels but couldn't find them. I will duplicate this picture on the weekend.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way with my carpet when I ripped a hole
in it pulling on a strand of piling that was sticking up. I cant really shell out
the money for a new carpet. The junkyard carpet was $10 so I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, dang. Those look nice too.

Those all look pretty thin :/ Momo's good, but expensive.
I loved the one from my WRX. I'd definitely go with brand
name on one. I could imagine those ebay ones not holding
up too well in an accident.

How much did they charge you? Definitely looking to get some myself because those are sexy as hell.

Too much! That is why I am going to source the materials for everyone to do it themselves. I am posting pictures to show everyone how he did it. If I had known what I do now, I would have done it myself. I will find out where to buy the materials, thread and glue.

The hatch card is only glued, while the door cards are stapled.

There are a lot of staples around the two lower corners.

I will poke my own holes for the door handle screws and slit an X for my power window control harness.
